River Rising is a shared web of experiences and co-operation, cultivating systems change with-in 360 acres of forest, fields, rivers, and spaces co-designed to improve the wholistic health of our communities.

By unlearning and relearning together, we are leaning into a decolonial set of values and artistic practices as our guides. Committed to re-storying and re-imagining other ways of being and becoming, we are activating our commitment to livable futures by forging paths that are in reciprocity with each other and the land.

We acknowledge the rightful sovereignty of the original and ongoing caretakers of this land, the Anishinabewaki, the Mississauga, and the Wendake-Nionwentsïo and we’re grateful for their care and stewardship with all our relations.

As settlers, we are honoured to dream, breathe, love and work on this land. We acknowledge that this project is enabled by a colonial system, including the legal agreements for its purchase and its not-for-profit status.
